A few pictures of Pennhurst this past fall
Pennhurst State School and Mental Hospital opened in 1908 and closed in 1986. What was intended to be a society for people with mental and physcial handicaps was a failure.
With over 25 buildings, Pennhurst is a huge complex. Today the sad remains are a testament of the failings of Pennhurst and the remembrance of the precious children it once held.
